Teachers' Awareness of Resources and Services Needed for Integrating Handicapped Students in the Public Schools In Ilorin, Kawara State

Abstract:

The Federal Government states that Teacher Training Colleges would provide general basic courses to all prospective and in-service teachers to enable them identify and mane handicapped children who are found in the public schools. It means that teachers must be aware of specialised resources and services which would enable them teach the handicapped students the public schools. in an effort to determine the level of awareness a survey involvuig primary and secondary school teachers was conducted. The result showed that the sample teachers were aware of quite a number of resources and services which would enable the(teachers) cope with handicapped children in public schools
