Abstract:
The paper examines through analysis of literature work, how indigenous language, as a medium of instruction in Nigerian Schools - (Primary and Secondary Schools) will affect or promote the services rendered by libraries. Quite often, one hear~teachers, scholars and educationist~ calling for the use of indigenous language as a medium of communication in Nigerian Schools, not bearing in mind what implications it will have on libraries and services they render. As a break from the goodies avered by the r~nown scholars, Theof the importance of using indigenous language as a medium of communication in Nigerian schools, this study examines both the positive and negative effects it will likely have on schools libraries i.e. primary and secondary schools.
